“Fernando is an exceptional educational advocate who truly goes above and beyond for students with disabilities. His deep care and unwavering commitment to each student's success are evident in everything he does. Fernando is not just an advocate; he’s a compassionate ally who listens, understands, and fights tirelessly to ensure that every student receives the support and accommodations they need to thrive. His dedication and expertise have made a profound difference in the lives of so many students and their families. I cannot recommend Fernando highly enough for Austin ISD School Board—he would be an excellent addition to the leadership and oversite of the district.”

“9 years ago we started out on a journey we knew nothing about. Had endured treatment that parents and their child should not go through. I researched who could I talk to and who could at least direct us in next steps. Meeting Fernando was the greatest gift we could have received. School districts ironically never listen to the parents voice as we try to navigate and advocate the educational system and Special education requirements. Fernando taught me how to become a stronger educational advocate for our son and help him get the help he needed. Our experience with the district of Del Valle is that they want to do the absolute minimum for students. In our case many things got overlooked time and time again until present day . In our case barriers are put up against parents by teachers or administrators who are advised to keep quiet in relation to how the student really is doing. Our son has been passed on from grade to grade knowing he wasn’t fully ready and the interventions were minimal at best if they were even done.everything we have endured now has our son refusing to ask for help or advocate for himself for fear of how he is seen amongst his peers and friends. We have gone thru many ARD’s, grievances, TEA processes, Mediations, none of which we never would have known without Fernando’s guidance and patience and support thru each year and different set of administration and teachers. He is extremely dedicated and knowledgeable and an asset to every family he assists. AISD board would be gaining an extremely knowledgeable person who goes to the lengths needed for children to get the Fair Access to Public Education they so deserve. We couldn’t be more proud of this path he has chosen.”
